The artisans at the Palopo Cooperative in Guatemala are known for creating beautiful mugs of generous proportions. This one features a traditional design in deep cobalt blue. Because it was purchased under Fair Trade guidelines, you know you are supporting a living wage for the artist. A crackly glaze of fine lines appears after a few washings, adding to its handcrafted charm.
Customers are saying...
Excellent Coffee MugsThese mugs hold a healthy serving of coffee, just right to get my mornings started. I think that they're stylish, too, to boot.

Our new Guatemalan Mug is brought to us by Fair Trade Quilts and Crafts, an organization we are proud to work with. In their own words "FTQ&Cs is a social business which adheres to Fair Trade principles, established to support artisans in the developing world. Every product we sell was created by artisan co-ops or individual artisans in a Sweatshop Free environment." Their ceramic pottery is produced by a Mayan cooperative in San Antonio Palopo, Guatemala, next to Lake Atitlan . The clay in the region is perfect for creating wonderful stoneware. The seven Mayan families who make up the ceramic cooperative hand paint each piece and all the work is done with kilns, ovens, and wheels they have built in their small shop.

FTQ&C is a member of the Fair Trade Federation, an association of fair trade wholesalers, retailers, and producers whose members are committed to providing fair wages and good employment opportunities to economically disadvantaged artisans and farmers worldwide.
